Dachau
not only was Dachau one of the most depressing places I have been but it was also the most eerie and cold. The bitter wind whipped around us as we walked through the now desolate camp. Stepping into the barracks for safety only to find that the barracks were more cold and drafty than the outside. Its shocking to think that the prisoners there wouldn't have any winter clothing and we were freezing while bundled in many layers. The short documentary we watched was chilling. It coldly showed the hard facts of the camp but the worst was when the narrator went silent. Being unable to distract myself with the narrators words meant we had to focus on the image or video in front of us. For me it was almost to much to bear. The worst is to think that this camp wasn't built for the purpose of killing people like Auschwitz was.
